BOQ review services
An independent check of your Bill of Quantities before it goes to tender or into a contract — so missing items, wrong quantities and unclear descriptions are found early.

Overview
A BoQ error found after the contract is signed usually becomes a variation, a claim or a dispute. The same error found before tender costs only the time it takes to correct it.
Our quantity surveyors review BoQs prepared by consultants, contractors or your own team. We check the quantities, descriptions and structure against the drawings, the specification and the method of measurement, then report what we found and what should change.

Developers use a review to check a consultant’s BoQ before tender. Contractors use it to check a client’s BoQ before pricing, so they can raise queries and understand the risk. Lenders and investors sometimes ask for an independent check before releasing funds.
- Developers checking a consultant’s BoQ before tender
- Contractors checking a client’s BoQ during tender
- Consultants who want a second check of their own work
- Lenders and investors who need an independent view
Most reviews combine a full check of the structure, descriptions and arithmetic with targeted re-measurement of the highest-value items. If the review finds major problems, we can re-measure the whole BoQ or prepare a corrected version.

FAQ
How long does a BoQ review take?
It depends on the size of the BoQ and the drawings. We agree the scope — for example which trades to re-measure — and a delivery date before we start.
Do you re-measure the whole BoQ?
Not usually. A review re-measures the key items and a sample of others. If you need certainty on every item, we can quote for a full re-measurement.
Can you correct the BoQ after the review?
Yes. We can update the BoQ with the agreed corrections and provide a revision summary.
