Overview

Landscape and irrigation are often measured last and in a hurry, yet on communities, resorts and public spaces they can be large packages. In hot climates such as the GCC, the irrigation network is a significant system in its own right.

Landscape and irrigation are among our specialist disciplines. We measure them from landscape layouts, planting plans, irrigation drawings and details, and organise the BoQ so landscape contractors can price it easily.

    Paving, kerbs and edgings, steps, walls, shade structures, site furniture and play areas.

    Trees, palms, shrubs and groundcover by species and size, turf, topsoil and soil improvement.

    Mainlines, sub-mains, laterals and drip lines, valves, emitters, sprinklers and controllers.

    Pumps and tanks

    Irrigation pump sets, storage tanks, connections and controls.

    Water features

    Pools, fountains and rills, with linings, pumps and filtration.

  6. 06

    Maintenance periods

    Establishment and maintenance periods as separate items where your contract requires them.

Planting is measured by species, size and specification, and counts are checked against both the planting schedule and the layout drawings. Where the two do not match, we record the difference as a query so the designer can confirm the right figure before tender.

We measure landscape and irrigation packages for residential communities and villas, hotels and resorts, parks, boulevards and streetscapes, as part of the main BoQ or as a separate package.

    Share PDF, DWG or Revit files with the specifications, and tell us the measurement standard and BoQ format you need.

    Scope, timeline and quote

    We confirm exactly what is included, the deliverables and a delivery date before any work starts.

  3. 03

    Measure and check

    Graduate quantity surveyors measure the work, then a second surveyor checks quantities and descriptions against the drawings.

  4. 04

    Deliver and support

    You receive editable Excel and PDF files, take-off sheets and marked-up drawings, and we answer queries and revisions.

FAQ

Do you measure irrigation from schematic layouts?

We measure pipework from layout drawings and count valves, emitters and controllers from layouts and schedules. Where layouts are only indicative, we state our assumptions or use provisional quantities.

Can landscape be a separate BoQ?

Yes. We can prepare landscape and irrigation as a separate package or as a section of the main BoQ.

Which standard do you use?

We follow the method in your tender documents — commonly POMI or NRM 2 in the GCC — and describe planting by species and size.
